Brandt Snedeker took home the 2012 Tour Championship on Sunday, and in the process won the FedEx Cup for the first time in his career. His prize? $10 million.
Snedeker played beautiful golf in the final round at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga. to give himself a little bit of spending money. The Nashville native has had a splendid 2012 campaign, finishing in the top 10 seven times in 22 events, including two victories.
Rory McIlroy finished just behind Snedeker in second place, despite winning a tour-high four tournaments. The Northern Irishmen was excellent throughout the summer, charging up the standings only to fall just short of a FedEx Cup title.
Tiger Woods came in third place with three wins and nine top 10 finishes in only 19 events. Woods played steady golf for most of the season, constantly putting his name in the conversation when weekends approached.
