Citing improvements on the offensive and defensive lines, the defense as a whole and the development of quarterback David Ash, ESPN Insider Brock Huard has picked the Texas Longhorns to win the Big 12 this season.
Texas (3-0) is one of seven undefeated teams in the Big 12 through four weeks this season, joining TCU, Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State, Texas Tech and West Virginia. The Longhorns open their Big 12 schedule on the road this Saturday versus Oklahoma State.
The Longhorns will face one of their toughest tests of the season when they host ninth ranked West Virginia on Saturday October 6 in Austin, Texas. Undefeated West Virginia is hosting undefeated Baylor this Saturday in its first Big 12 game of the season.
Oklahoma State won the Big 12 in 2011 with a 8-1 conference record and a 12-1 record overall. Texas finished sixth with a 4-5 conference record and an 8-5 record overall. This is West Virginia's first year in the Big 12.
