The Pittsburgh Steelers will start Isaac Redman at running back in their season opener against the Denver Broncos on Sunday night, according to ESPN.com. The expected starter, Rashard Mendenhall, is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season in Week 17 against the Browns.
Redman is in his third year out of Bowie State. The 27-year-old played in all 32 games in 2010 and 2011. In that time, he amassed 726 yards and three touchdowns on 163 carries. Redman also had 17 rushes in last year's postseason loss to Denver, going for 121 yards on the ground while adding two catches for 21 yards.
Game time for the Steelers is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC's weekly Sunday primetime showcase.
