Steelers vs. Broncos: Harrison, Mendenhall, Clark All Inactive

The inactives for the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight will include QB Charlie Batch, S Ryan Clark, LB James Harrison, RB Rashard Mendenhall, LB Steven Sylvester, DT Alameda Ta'amu, and G Kevin Beechum. Ryan Clark was diagnosed with the sickle cell trait, which could be a potentially life threatening situation. The Steelers had been listing Clark as out with something "non-injury related" prior to tonight's news.

Harrison had hoped to play after suffering a torn ACL, but he was ruled out earlier in the week. Mendenhall had also been rehabbing a major knee injury, and he has always been unlikely to be involved in week one. He had been able to participate fully in practice, so there was certainly some hope for Steelers fans that he'd be able to take part.
