The Ravens made their way to the NFL's 47th Super Bowl by finishing the regular season with a 10-6 record. They then defeated the Colts, the Broncos and the Patriots in the playoffs to earn a spot in the season's final game. The 49ers finished the regular season with an 11-4-1 record and defeated the Packers and Falcons to head to the Super Bowl.
