Becks Super Bowl commercial: Sapphire beer gets promotional boost

What's Super Bowl Sunday without an assortment of brand new beer commercials? We take a look at Beck's new TV spot to air on February 3rd.

For years, the Super Bowl has been the biggest platform for beer companies to have their advertisements seen. A lot of the times, the companies have spent big money and have gotten awfully creative.

Budweiser has been one of the biggest players, winning over football fans with their long-lasting TV spots. No NFL fan will ever forget the 3 frogs on a log, chirping: "BUD-WEIS-ERRR." It was a lighthearted approach intended to bring a smile to the face of the audience.

But Budweiser is not the only beer company with a time slot. This year, Becks will have some air time on Super Bowl Sunday. They've also gone with the lighthearted approach, with a singing animated fishing circling a beer bottle.

They are promoting Beck's Sapphire edition, made with German sapphire hops.

And even though it was slightly comical with this fish harmonizing Blackstreet's No Diggity, the spot was also sort of elegant. The glowing ruby sort of captures the middle of the screen. And the solid black and red colors complement each other and give it a pristine look.

But hey, whatever it takes to make NFL fans remember your commercial instead of the countless other they'll see on Super Bowl Sunday.
