NFL Mock Draft 2013: Steelers select Jesse Williams

Pittsburgh is an old team with quite a few issues, but they are also a squad that can rebound quickly with good picks this year.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers missed the playoffs last season after collapsing down the stretch. Now they look to regroup and get a little younger in some spots, something the draft is always good for.

In SB Nation's latest mock draft by Matthew Fairburn, he projects the Steelers to bolster their defensive line, grabbing national champion Jesse Williams, a nose tackle from Alabama.

Williams may not be the sexiest pick in the world, but he's the best true nose tackle in the draft and can replace an aging and often injured Casey Hampton on the line.

Pittsburgh is the oldest team in the NFL and has been ravaged by injuries in recent years, especially on defense. Williams can help to ease the transition to some younger talent along with the likes of inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons and fellow defensive linemen Ziggy Hood and Casey Hayward.
