The 68-team NCAA tournament bracket is set, and the Pittsburgh Panthers received an at-large invitation to the Big Dance.
Pittsburgh is the No. 8 seed in the West region, and they will face the No. 9 Wichita St. Shockers in the second round of the tournament. The two teams will meet on Thursday at 1:40 p.m. ET in Salt Lake City, UT. If the Panthers advance to the third round, they will likely meet the No. 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs, or, if something unbelievable happens, the No. 16 Southern U. Jaguars.
Pittsburgh is one of eight Big East teams to make the field, which qualifies as the most teams from any conference in the tournament. The Panthers join the No. 1 Louisville Cardinals, the No. 2 Georgetown Hoyas, the No. 3 Marquette Golden Eagles, the No. 4 Syracuse Orange, the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the No. 9 Villanova Wildcats and the No. 10 Cincinnati Bearcats.
