It has taken a while, but Penn State finally has a red zone touchdown in Big Ten play.
Robert Bolden led a 12-play, 89-yard drive that senior running back Evan Royster capped with a 2-yard touchdown run to put Penn State up 14-7 early in the second quarter at Minnesota. The Penn State drive was aided by a couple Gopher pass interference calls, but nevertheless, the Nittany Lions have the red zone monkey off their back for now after struggling mighty down deep in their first two Big Ten games against Iowa and Illinois.
