After moving up to No. 20 in the AP Poll last week, the WVU Moutaineers drop out of this week’s college football rankings, leaving the AP top 25 after Saturday’s loss to Syracuse. This isn’t much of a surprise, and the Mountaineers are still ranked fifth (one behind Syracuse, incidentally) in the “others receiving votes” category, so WVU could be back in the charts with wins in the next couple of weeks.
Neither Pitt nor Penn State found themselves in the top 25, or even the “others receiving votes” category, despite wins this week against Rutgers and Minnesota, respectively.
