BCS Rankings: Oregon, Auburn Likely To Meet In National Championship

Oregon, Auburn and TCU are currently first through third in the BCS Standings, which closely mirror the AP poll. Boise State drops all the way down to No. 11 after its loss to Nevada, with Stanford taking over the No. 4 spot. The Big Ten is well represented, with Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan State at Nos. 5, 6 and 8, respectively. And finally, the Big East and the Pittsburgh area both have a representative, with West Virginia at No. 24 in the standings.

With Oregon and Auburn looking set to meet in the national championship game, TCU and Wisconsin could meet in the Rose Bowl, while the Big Ten could pick up a second BCS berth with Ohio State potentially heading to the Sugar Bowl. The Big East champ whether that’s UConn, WVU or Pitt, could head to the Orange Bowl to play Florida State. SB Nation Bay Area has a good rundown of the possible BCS scenarios, but the gist is that a lot is yet to be decided.

Here’s the top ten in the BCS standings:

1. Oregon
2. Auburn
3. TCU
4. Stanford
5. Wisconsin
6. Ohio State
7. Arkansas
8. Michigan State
9. Oklahoma
10. LSU
