College Football Rankings: Pitt And Big East Foes Syracuse Stand At Edge Of Top 25

SB Nation has its new BlogPoll Top 25. While none of the local teams (Pitt, Penn State, WVU) are in the top 25, WVU and Pitt’s Big East foes Syracuse appear to be able to break in with one more win, and Pitt itself is starting to receive votes as well after three straight wins over Louisville, Rutgers and, well, Syracuse. As possibly the best team in a very weak conference, Pitt could receive a lot more attention as the year goes on – they’re the only team that’s undefeated in Big East conference play.

Several teams from Penn State’s Big Ten conference are in the top 25: Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State and Iowa. The Nittany Lions play Ohio State and Michigan State later this month. Penn State itself did not receive any votes in the poll despite its win over Michigan this week.

The BlogPoll top 25 is headed by Oregon, Auburn, Boise State, TCU, and Alabama.
