Once again, if you're driving in the Pittsburgh area this weekend, the ubiquitous white placards and change-filled coffee cans will be out in full force. The second "canning" weekend of the Penn State Dance Marathon season takes place this weekend. The charity, the Four Diamonds Fund, is a non-profit charity that raises money for childhood cancer. The event around which all of these activities surround is known as THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world.
↵↵↵Dec. 3-5 marks the second canning weekend of the 2011 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON. Its mission is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing outstanding emotional and financial support to the children, families, researchers and staff of The Four Diamonds Fund. Canister solicitation, referred to as "canning," takes place over four pre-determined weekends during the year.

Please donate what you can, regardless of your rooting interest. As I stated in the last canning weekend update, a child with cancer does not care what team you root for; be a hero and donate this weekend!
