One of the big questions facing the Penn State Lady Lions entering this season was how coach Coquese Washington's squad would replace the scoring of departed senior Tyra Grant. Only a few weeks into the 2010-2011 season, however, the Lady Lions appear to have their answer in the form of freshman Maggie Lucas.
↵The former McDonald's All-American recruit grabbed her third straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week award on Friday after averaging 19 points and two rebounds in Penn State's games this past week, a loss to Boston College on the road and a win at home over Texas Tech.
↵Lucas is second on the team in scoring at just over 16 points per game. Her contributions have fueled a nice 7-2 start that should put Penn State in good position when it begins Big Ten play against Iowa on December 30.
