Joe Paterno Supports Bradley For Pitt Job

Joe Paterno addressed the Penn State press corps Sunday morning in Tampa following his team's loss to Florida in the Outback Bowl, and when the topic of Pitt's coaching situation came up, he didn't bat an eye in endorsing defensive coordinator Tom Bradley as a candidate.

Well, if they ask me, I'll tell them. I think Tommy is a fine coach. He's got good strong city of Pittsburgh contacts. He has a brother who is an orthopedic surgeon and the head surgeon for the Steelers and the whole bit, so I thin that Tommy should be a very, very prominent person as a possibility.

It had been reported that Bradley expressed interest in the Pitt job after Pitt fired Dave Wannstedt and before it hired Michael Haywood a couple of weeks ago. He also interviewed for Temple's vacant head coaching position before out-going Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio was named to the position there. Whether Bradley is still interested in Pitt remains to be seen.
