Iowa Vs. Penn State First Half Updates: Nittany Lions Take Lead Into Halftime

Penn State scores five straight points coming out of the last media timeout of the half, cutting the Iowa lead to one. The momentum might be shifting here...

The Nittany Lions take the lead with an Andrew Jones slam.  The Hawkeyes continue to double Talor Battle, and then struggle to guard everyone when the ball leaves his hands.

Iowa misses a long shot to end the half, and after what was a pretty sluggish first 18 minutes, Penn State surprisingly holds a 29-28 halftime lead.

Here's your halftime stat pack.

Talor Battle and Jeff Brooks both have a game high 10 points. Penn State outrebounded Iowa 13-11 in the half, but no Lion has more than two boards. Penn State also outshot Iowa 47%-42%. Bryce Cartwright leads the Hawkeyes with nine points on 4-9 shooting.

David Jackson and Talor Battle both have two fouls. Billy Oliver has three. Foul trouble might be something to keep an eye on in the second half.

Lions are 5-6 at the foul line, Hawkeyes are 4-6. Penn State has eight turnovers and Iowa has five.
