Joe Paterno was bluffing by appearing down on the field pre-game this morning. He'll start today's contest from the press box. Guess the tweak of his injury last week is still giving him trouble.
D'Anton Lynn gets the start for Penn State at cornerback today as the Nittany Lions opened the game by kicking off to Purdue. As has become the norm this season, though, the Nittany Lions' defense got a three-and-out, with Caleb TerBush starting at quarterback for the Boilermakers.
Rob Bolden started the game for Penn State on offense with a 8-yard scamper. Running back Silas Redd was stacked up on third-down, though, and the Lions were forced to punt.
The Boilermakers built a bit of momentum on their second drive, with TerBush hitting his receiver for a 20-yard gain into Penn State territory, but defense stopped Purdue at the 27-yardline and Carson Wiggs missed a 44-yard field goal attempt to keep the contest scoreless.
