After a frantic scoring pace in the first half, things have really slowed down for both teams here in the second. The teams have been exchanging punts and there's really not been much to say as the fourth quarter clock winds.
The Wildcats start putting a drive together, though, with quarterback Dan Persa scrambling all over the place. Persa is hurt once Northwestern gets into the red zone though, and goes off the field. Kain Colter takes over and trips back near the Penn State 30 to put Northwestern in a 3rd-and-long situation. Sean Stanley knifes through and sacks him on the following play, and a promising drive for the Wildcats falls flat with 8:08 left.
After Northwestern punts, Penn State gets some momentum going on the ground. Stephfon Green is getting a lot of carries late here, so it looks like the staff is trying to get him involved after suspending him for violating team rules over the summer.
Rob Bolden still has not seen the field.
With just over four minutes left in the game, it's still Penn State 34 Northwestern 24
