Saturday afternoon, the Penn State Nittany Lions (8-1, 5-0 Big Ten) will play their first game without Joe Paterno's involvement since 1950, when they square off in a Big Ten battle with the Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-2, 3-2).
Paterno was fired late Wednesday evening, after 46 years as the Nittany Lions head coach, and will be replaced on the sidelines by longtime defensive coordinator Tom Bradley.
Penn State sits atop the Big Ten's Leaders division at 5-0, with a two game lead over Wisconsin and Ohio State, who the Nittany Lions face in the next two weeks on the road. A win today by PSU would give the Nittany Lions at least a share of the Leaders division crown. Win two of the final three games, and Penn State will head to the inaugural Big Ten Conference Championship game in Indianapolis on December 3.
Game date, time: 12:00 pm ET, Saturday, Nov 12
Location: Beaver Stadium, Happy Valley, PA
TV channel: ESPN
Spread: Nebraska favored by 2.
Series history: Penn State leads, 7-6.
