COLUMBUS, Ohio--Following Anthony Fera's field goal, Ohio State takes over at its own 23-yardline. Dan "Boom" Herron picks up a first down on the ground, and a facemask penalty on Penn State's Glenn Carson moves the Buckeyes into Penn State territory as the first quarter ends.
A illegal formation penalty on the first play of the second quarter moves Ohio State back, and Braxton Miller misses DeVier Posey after defensive end Sean Stanley drops back in pass defense (!). Miller goes back to Posey on the next play, however, and completes the pass for 18 yards and a first down just outside Penn State's 30-yardline.
Miller then breaks free on an option play for a 24-yard touchdown to get Ohio State on the board. It's now 10-7 Penn State with 12:32 to play in the second quarter.
Ohio State scoring summary:10 plays, 77 yards, 4:22 time of possession.
Miller has now picked up 42 yards on six carries. The Penn State defense is really having trouble containing him on the ground.
