Penn State's bowl destination remains uncertain following its 45-7 defeat against Wisconsin on Saturday in Madison, but if the Gator Bowl has its choice, the Nittany Lions won't be heading there. The Orlando Sentinel's Rachel George reports officials have their eye on another Big Ten team, Ohio State.
The Buckeyes, after their loss to Michigan on Saturday, are just 6-6. A matchup with Florida, former team of reported new Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and opponent in the 2006 national championship game, clearly contains too many story lines for bowl officials to pass up.
And so, it would appear you can cross Jacksonville off the list of potential landing sports for Penn State come bowl season.
