It wasn't a good week for Penn State off the field, but nonetheless, it was a good week in the college football rankings, as PSU is at No. 12 in this week's AP poll. The Nittany Lions were idle this week but face the toughest part of their schedule in the next three weeks as they face Nebraska (No. 19 after a loss to Northwestern) and Wisconsin (No. 16). They're currently the highest-ranked team in the conference, but we'll see if they can stay that way. The Big Ten is also represented by Michigan State (No. 13) and Michigan (No. 22).
West Virginia fell from the rankings after losing to Louisville. The Big East is represented only by Cincinnati (No. 23).
LSU is No. 1 after defeating Alabama, which falls to No. 4, Saturday night.
