Despite being given numerous opportunities at making a late run, the Duquesne Dukes were able to hold off the Penn State Nittany Lions and secure a 66-59 victory.
The Lions were able to get the score down to four points, however the Dukes were able to keep the ball away from Penn State for much of the late stages of the game.
Eric Evans hit two foul shots to make it a 63-56 game with under a minute remaining, but a Jermaine Marshall 3-pointer with 37.6 seconds remaining cut it to 63-59.
After a missed free throw, Penn State had a chance to make it closer, but Cameron Woodyard missed a 3-pointer that the Dukes recovered. A turnover created led to Duquesne putting the game on ice with three more free-throws to put it away.
