Penn State Coaching Search: David Joyner Comments On Process

Acting Penn State athletic director David Joyner, the leader of the university's six-person search committee tasked with finding a replacement for former head coach Joe Paterno, commented Thursday on the progress made toward finding a new leader for the football program in a video interview with GoPSUSports.com. You can check out the video here.

Lions247 has a transcript.

Q. As fans around the country continue to see coaching spots fill in terms of the football world, what can you tell the fans about where the process is and why that maybe hasn’t happened here yet?

DJ: We’re about exactly where I wanted to be at this point in time and we may be conducting our search a little different than other people. I’m not saying they’re not, but we’re being very methodical and precise about what we’re doing and who we’re talking to.

Joyner has said he hopes to have a new coach in place before Penn State's appearance in the TicketCity Bowl on Jan. 2 in Dallas, whether the Nittany Lions will take on Houston at the Cotton Bowl.
