Penn State Coaching Search: School Still Chasing Chris Petersen According To Report

Reports have connected Boise State coach Chris Petersen to the Penn State job since early December and it appears acting athletic director David Joyner's six-person search committee is still chasing the Broncos leader, according to David Jones of the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

According to two sources close to the search, a PSU committee member has made two trips to Idaho within the last eight days, presumably to try to woo Boise State coach Chris Petersen. It is not known what, if anything, resulted from those attempts.

Petersen's Boise State team finished its 2011 season on Thursday night in defeating Arizona State 56-24 at the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas. The victory capped a 50-3 run over the past four seasons for the program, which will lose quarterback Kellen Moore next season. The Broncos' only loss this season came against TCU on Nov. 12.
