Penn State Coaching Search: Mike Munchak, Tom Clements Top Choices, According To Report

Add the PIttsburgh Post-Gazette's Ron Musselman to those reporting Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak is among Penn State's top choices to replace Joe Paterno as leader of the Nittany Lions.

In a piece Wednesday, Musselman called Munchak the "top pick" of acting athletic director David Joyner's six-person search committee. That just a day after David Jones of the Harrisburg Patriot-News tweeted that some donors are calling Munchak a "done deal."

Musselman also reported that Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements is the committee's second pick if it can't draw Munchak away from Nashville. He did not mention Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe or Duke coach David Cutcliffe, a pair Jones reported Friday the committee would consider if it couldn't draw Munchak or Boise State's Chris Petersen. Musselman said Clements has been interviewed by the committee twice, though neither was in person.
