Penn State Vs. Northwestern First Half Updates: Wildcats Make Run

Penn State was shooting an obscene 80% when the two teams came back from the most recent media timeout.

Bill Carmody is again sporting the no tie look. My nomination for him as the "Most Interesting Man In The Big Ten" stands. He could seamlessly make the transition to the commercials.

The Nittany Lions are cooling off a little bit here. You can't have every shot fall, but you can bring intensity on defense every time down, so Penn State needs to make sure that meter stays turned up.

Northwestern has gone on a 10-0 run to cut the Penn State lead to 18-12. Ed DeChellis calls timeout at the 9:08 mark of the half.

David Jackson breaks the run with a jumper from the wing.

Wildcats are really pressuring out top, trying to make Penn State uncomfortable. The Lions need to start working the ball inside to Jeff Brooks and Andrew Jones some more. Northwestern can't hang with them on the insides, especially in the defensive sets they're throwing out there.

With 7:49 to play in the half, Penn State leads Northwestern 22-12.
