Penn State Vs. Northwestern First Half Updates: Nittany Lions Take Lead Into Break

Talor Battle is called for a charge as Northwestern has cut the lead to three points. Battle has been pretty quiet so far with only three points. He needs to turn it on if the Lions are going to maintain their lead in this game.

Ed DeChellis has emptied the bench here early as both Cammeron Woodyard and Jermaine Marshall are into the game.

Luca Mirkovic is starting to have success on the inside. That can't happen if you're Penn State. Northwestern is not a post team, and points inside are bonus points for the Wildcats. Better defense in the interior is a must.

David Jackson is on the bench with two fouls. He's been getting in trouble a lot in that department lately.

Northwestern fails to score on its final possession of the half. Penn State leads 26-23 at the break.

Here is your halftime stat pack.

Jeff Brooks leads Penn State in scoring and rebounding with nine points and four boards. The Nittany Lions are shooting 57% from the field and hold a narrow rebounding margin 12-11.

Michael Thompson leads all scorers with 10 points for Northwestern. John Shurna is pacing the Wildcats in rebounding with four boards. Northwestern is shooting only 32% but is down only three.
