Penn State Vs. Northwestern Second Half Updates: Lions Look To Hold Lead Down The Stretch

Drew Crawford opens the scoring in the second half, cutting the Penn State lead to one before David Jackson gets Penn State on the board at the other end to push the lead back to three.

Northwestern's strategy going back to the game at Penn State has been to pressure Tim Frazier when he has the ball. The sophomore has been adept at drawing fouls when they do, though.

Northwestern still turning up the pressure, throwing some half court traps at the Lions after the first media timeout. It works, forcing a stop. Later, the Wildcats force Tim Frazier to call a timeout.

The Lions are on very unsteady ground right now. They've been up by about three for much of the half here.

Talor Battle still very quiet this evening with only five points in the game. As time draws down, his stepping up will become more and more important.

Another big jumper from David Jackson. Too bad he hasn't been on the floor a whole lot.

Michael Thompson hits another triple for Northwesten. He's killing Penn State right now.

And just as we say things are getting tenuous, Penn State pushes the lead back to 11 points with a Jeff Brooks three.

By the way, Talor Battle just joined the 2,000 point, 500 rebound and 500 assist club, the first in Big Ten history. Another impressive feather in his hat.

With 7:14 to play in the game, Penn State is up 48-37.
