On Saturday, Ohio offensive lineman Anthony Stanko gave his commitment to play for Penn State, becoming the first member of the Class of 2012 for the Nittany Lions.
↵Nothing is official until Stanko signs his name on his Letter of Intent next February; further, thanks to new NCAA rules, Stanko doesn't even have a written offer of a scholarship yet. But this is good news for Lions fans, as Stanko is a quality offensive lineman.
↵Stanko projects as an interior lineman on the next level. He also seems to be a recruit that will turn around and actively recruit other players for Penn State. In a state that is rich with senior-to-be talent, pulling as many recruits as possible both ensures that Penn State gets top notch talent and also ensures that Ohio State doesn't get that same talent. With divisional play set to begin in the Big Ten next year, Penn State will be battling the Buckeyes every year for the Leaders Division title.
↵Welcome to Happy Valley, Anthony!
