Both teams heated up to close the half shooting. Minnesota drew a bit closer by scoring on the last possession of the half, though, pulling to within three. It's 33-30 at the half in Minneapolis.
Jeff Brooks looked a lot better late. He started taking better shots and looked more active on the glass.
Here are your halftime stats.
Brooks and Talor Battle lead Penn State in scoring with 10 points each on the afternoon. Tim Frazier has five points and Jermaine Marshall and Andrew Jones have four points each.
Rodney Williams has seven points to lead the Golden Gophers in scoring. Seven players scored for Minnesota in the half, however, so the lack of one big scorer is not big deal.
The Gophers are completely dominating the boards, leading Penn State 17-5 in the half. Penn State is shooting much better, however, leading 46.7%-38.5% on the afternoon. Penn State will probably need to be much better rebounding in the second half, though.
