Ed DeChellis Leaves Penn State: Early Potential Replacements

It's very, very early on in the coaching search to replace former Penn State head coach Ed DeChellis, but Chas Wolfe of High Major Scoop has already tweeted a list of potential replacements from outside the program. If you're hoping for a group of home runs, don't hold your breath.

Early names I'm hearing for Penn State: Tommy Herrion, Jimmy Barron, Ron Everhardt, Jim Christian, John Groce, Matt Brady & Dino Gaudio.less than a minute ago via twidroyd Favorite Retweet Reply

Don't get too excited for any of those, though (if that's possible). At this late stage in the game, it's more likely Penn State will look for a replacement within the program on at least an interim basis. Kurt Kanaskie, who pulled his name from consideration for the Loch Haven job, would be the most likely of those currently on the staff. Former Nittany Lion Dan Earl, currently the lowest paid assistant at any BCS level school, might also be in the running.
