Penn State vs. Eastern Michigan: Stephfon Green Out At Least Two Weeks

Troubled Penn State running back Stephfon Green has missed the Nittany Lions' first three games this season after violating team rules in the offseason and getting slapped with a furnishing charge in the summer. Coach Joe Paterno revealed he'll probably miss at least a couple more, too, at his weekly press conference on Tuesday.

"He's going to come on out (for practice)," Paterno said.  "I said, 'well, you’ve got to prove to me that you buy into the program.  And the minute I'm convinced you do that, why, we'll start to think about using you in the football game.' But he won't play this week or next week.  But hopefully, maybe things will work out for him and he'll have an opportunity to play later on."

This would appear to put him on track to return Oct. 8 against Iowa as the Lions host their first home game of the Big Ten schedule. In three career games against the Hawkeyes, Green has 48 yards on eight carries, a 6.0 yard per carry average.
