Penn State Vs. Indiana State: Nittany Lions' Pass Blocking Struggles

Freshman Sam Ficken is handling this kickoff after Evan Lewis missed the extra point following the Joe Suhey touchdown. It appeared the staff was trying to redshirt Ficken, a highly touted kicking recruit, but Lewis' struggles today might be undoing that. You can bet Joe Paterno will be asked about the kicking situation after the game.

The defense forces a three-and-out on the ensuing Sycamore drive.

Rob Bolden is back for this Penn State drive and completes a nice ball to Shawney Kersey for nine yards.

Yikes, Indiana State just shredded the Penn State offensive line on a third down, forcing Bolden into throwing a pass into the turf that's ruled intentional grounding. After the initial first down, that drive got ugly in a hurry for the Lions. Pass blocking didn't look very good at all.

Penn State defense forces another three-and-out.

Bolden remains in the game for this drive.

We have a Curtis Dukes sighting. He just ripped off a 30-yard run on his first carry of the game. Hello, young man.

Offensive lineman Mike Farrell is shaken up for the Lions. He leaves the field under his own power.

Another Penn State drive stalls with the line unable to protect Bolden. Score remains 34-0 Nittany Lions as we reach the end of the third quarter.
