Jay Paterno Will Not Stay On As Member Of Penn State Coaching Staff Under Bill O'Brien

On Tuesday, Jay Paterno announced that after talking with new head coach Bill O'Brien, both parties had reached an agreement that he would not be a part of the coaching staff going forward. The son of legendary coach Joe Paterno posted the note online that he would not be coming back for his 18th season with the program.

Via Jay Paterno's blog:

After talking with Coach Bill O'Brien we have reached the conclusion that I will not be a part of the Penn State football staff moving forward.

I will spend the next few weeks consulting with my wife and family to weigh various future options both inside and outside of football.

Paterno went on to thank the PSU faithful for their support during the the past two months.
