Penn State Vs. Wisconsin: Nittany Lions Fall In Defensive Struggle, 52-46

Penn State dropped a defensive slugfest to Wisconsin by a score if 52-46 on Tuesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center, reminiscent of the two teams' 36-33 battle at the Big Ten Tournament last March.

The Nittany Lions (10-13, 2-8 Big Ten) held the Badgers (18-5, 7-3 Big Ten) to just 35.4 percent shooting on the night but managed to shoot just 36 percent from the field themselves, including 20 percent (2-10) from the 3-point line and 57.1 percent (8-14) from the free throw stripe. Wisconsin turned the ball over just five times, limiting Penn State's extra opportunities.

Penn State's Tim Frazier had a strong second half, finishing with 21 points after scoring just four in the first period. Jermaine Marshall joined him in double figures with 13 points, but only three in the second half. Four Lions finished with at least five rebounds in the game as Penn State won the battle of the boards.

Jordan Taylor had 18 points to lead Wisconsin while Ryan Evans added 11 points and six rebounds.

The Lions return to action Saturday when they travel to take on Iowa at 3:00 p.m. in Iowa City.
