Penn State Coaching Search: David Joyner Declines Comment

Reporters tracked down Penn State acting athletic director David Joyner outside the Lasch Football Building before his meeting with the football team's current staff on Friday afternoon. Fight On State's Mark Brennan reports the leader of the six-person search committee tasked with finding a replacement for Joe Paterno, fired on Nov. 9 in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal, had little to say about the meeting.

I'm not going to confirm anything, as I've always done, out of repect for people. So I peronally am not going to confirm anything yet. So when there is something to confirm we'll let you know.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press's Genaro C. Armas reports members of the staff were informed that an outside hire has been made. No name was reportedly specified, but all signs point toward New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, who numerous reports in the last 24 hours have said will take the job and who has been seen on the ground in State College in the last hour.
