The Penn State Nittany Lions have officially found a replacement for the legendary Joe Paterno as head coach, and it is New England Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. The school will hold a press conference Saturday morning at 11:30 am to introduce O'Brien. Via the University's official twitter feed:
The news of O'Brien's hiring has not sat well with many former players and alumni, who felt interim coach and defensive coordinator Tom Bradley should have been elevated to head man over an "outsider" like O'Brien.
This will be one of the more interesting introductory press conferences in a long time, as O'Brien will need to address those concerns, as well as questions about how he plans to move the program out from under the shadow of a scandal, and the news that O'Brien will still remain on as the Patriots offensive coordinator as long as they remain in the NFL playoffs, perhaps hindering his official start in Happy Valley.
