Penn State's Kermit Buggs Announces He Will Not Be Retained By Bill O'Brien

While some members of Joe Paterno's staff will be retained by new Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien, secondary coach Kermit E. Buggs will not be among them as he announced on his Twitter account in a series of tweets on Monday.

"Just got the call this morning I am not being retained. I thank all of my followers in the Penn State Community!" Buggs said. "Penn State has done a lot for me and I appreciate all the love and support given to me in my 8 yrs at Penn State! We Are.......This is my last tweet and I thank Coach O'Brien for giving me an interview and wish him t[h]e best of luck! To my players Thx and 'make plays.'"

Under Buggs, the Penn State secondary yielded the second-fewest passing yards in the Big Ten, and fourth-fewest passing yards in the nation, ranking behind only Alabama, South Carolina and Illinois.
