Danny O'Brien Transfer News: Former Maryland QB Pays Second Visit To Penn State

Former Maryland quarterback Danny O'Brien visited Penn State for the second time on Monday. According to Ron Musselman of StateCollege.com, O'Brien watched the Nittany Lions practice on Monday.

Earlier in March, Penn State confirmed that it was one of the schools on O'Brien's radar after he was granted his release from Maryland. O'Brien also visited Mississippi State, and had other schools interested.

O'Brien would compete in spring practices with Matthew McGloin, Rob Bolden and Paul Jones for the team's quarterbacking job.

Last season, O'Brien threw for seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the Terrapins, piling up 1,648 passing yards in the process. He was granted his release from the Maryland program after wrapping up his undergraduate program there. According to NCAA rules, he is free to transfer to any school with a graduate program while using up his remaining eligibility.

Ben Jones of StateCollege.com tweeted this picture of O'Brien at the Penn State facilities.
