Penn State Recruiting: Decision Day For Adam Breneman

Adam Breneman, one of the nation's top-rated tight end recruits, will announce his verbal commitment on Friday night and will choose between Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Maryland.

The Camp Hill native is rated a four-star recruit as well as the No. 22 overall prospect nationally by Rivals.com, and he's had good things to say about the Nittany Lions, including new coach Bill O'Brien in recent months.

"A big part of my decision-making process is the offense that I'll be playing in," Breneman said. "With what Coach O'Brien has done with his tight ends, I don't think there could've been a better hire for someone of my position."

Many hope O'Brien would be able to use Breneman as a big threat in the passing game given his success with tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez with the New England Patriots. The two combined to catch 169 passes for 2,237 yards and 24 touchdowns this past season, so it's no wonder Breneman would be excited about playing in a similar system at the college level.

The Lions, already out to a good start on the recruiting trail with four-star rated prospects Christian Hackenberg, Ross Douglas and Garrett Sickels in tow, will really be off to a hot recruiting start if they're able to close the deal with Breneman. Stay tuned.
