Brian Bennett at ESPN.com has compiled the rankings of the six computers that factor in the BCS. He focuses on where the Big East stands and, as expected, it ain't pretty.
↵Only four of the six computers rate any Big East team in the top 25. In each case, it's West Virginia. Pitt ranks as high as No. 40 and as low as No. 72. The average of the six computers ranks West Virginia No. 29 and Pitt No. 58.
↵One thing that Pitt fans have hung their hat on is the Panthers' strength of schedule. However, out of the computers that factor that in, the school's average ranking in that category is only No. 50 in the nation. One computer ranks Pitt's schedule as low as No. 82.
↵It's hard to take these things too seriously and I would like to see a breakdown of how the strength of schedule is determined. But it appears even the computers know that the conference stinks this year.
