Central Conn. State Vs. Penn State Halftime Notes

Good half for Penn State. The Lions are holding a team averaging 82 points to a 50 points pace. As they did against Fairfield the other night, they're drawing a bunch of charges and rotating very well. It's pretty impressive stuff considering this team leaked points big time last season. The scoring Penn State is getting from some guys is nice, but good defense will go a long way in conference play.

Taran Buie is contributing early. He has nine points including a pair of threes. Deep shots really aren't his thing yet, but he's hitting them tonight an keeping Penn State on a nice offensive pace.

Talor Battle only had four points in the half and Penn State is still on a solid scoring pace. This team unquestionably is more balanced on the offfensive end right now than it was last season. More guys are attacking the basket and it doesn't really feel like Battle is doing it all himself.

Penn State is 4-11 from deep tonight. Not great, but not bad either.
