Pitt's Jabaal Sheard capped off a tumultuous year by being named as an AFCA All-American. The Pitt DE turned things around after his assault case this Summer, by having a huge season, despite the absence of teammate Greg Romeus most of the year. When Romeus went down due to injury, Romeus was repeatedly double-teamed. Despite the heavy presence, Sheard still managed his best season at Pitt with 45 tackles, nine sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, and four fumbles.
↵Penn State's OL Stefen Wisniewski was also named to the 25-man team. Wisniewski, from Central Catholic in Pittsburgh, has started nearly every game he's played in (37 of 38) for the Nittany Lions. He is also a three-time Academic All-American and is expected to be an All-Conference first team selection for the second straight season.
