Pitt defeated IUP in the team's final exhibition game on Thursday, 73-56. The team also got some good news in that Gilbert Brown and Lamar Patterson, both sidelined with injuries in Pitt's first exhibition game, returned to play about 20 minutes each in the game.
The Panthers started out a little slow and only held a 32-22 halftime lead. But the team pulled away in the second half shooting more than 58% from the field.
Gary McGhee led Pitt with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Three players led the team in scoring with 13 points - Patterson, Brad Wanamaker, and Travon Woodall.
↵Talib Zanna started at PF for the injured Nasir Robinson. Zanna is looking like the team's projected starter for the season opener on Monday against Rhode Island.
