Todd Graham is hosting a big recruiting weekend at Pitt and by Saturday night, the team had secured two more verbal commitments.
↵Jason Frimpong, previously a Tulsa commit out of Texas, says he will now attend Pitt. Frimpong was an athletic dual-threat quarterback in high school, but is projected to player corner for Pitt. Pitt also secured a commitment from Florida's Ronald Jones. Jones was also a quarterback, but should be a wide receiver at the next level.
Neither player is highly touted by Scout or Rivals, but Scout was slightly more impressed by both players. Frimpong was rated as a three-star recruit by Scout but only a two-star by Rivals. Scout also pegged Jones as a two-star, while Rivals had him unranked.
Frimpong, on the surface, appears to be a slightly better recruit. He is rated higher and also had offers from Wisconsin, Memphis, and Tulsa. Jones seems to be a bit of a reach as his only reported offers came from Marshall, Citadel, and Georgia Southern. But he is known to be pretty fast and could fit Graham's system.
