Hopewell running back Rushel Shell is expected to announce his college football destination on Friday:
↵↵↵Hopewell senior tailback Rushel Shell, the WPIAL career rushing leader and one of the most sought-after high school prospects in the country, confirmed to KDKA-TV’s Bob Pompeani Saturday morning on 93.7 The Fan’s "The Bob Pompeani Show" he will announce his college decision before the Vikings’ Week 7 contest against the WPIAL Class AAA champs, with ESPN cameras present.

Shell is one of the biggest recruits to come out of western Pennsylvania in recent years and is one of the top high school running backs in the nation. He has been on Pitt's radar for some time now and the Panthers are said to be a finalist for his services. Shell reportedly has offers from more than a dozen top colleges in the nation including Alabama, Florida, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others.
↵Landing Shell would be an amazing coup for Pitt's 2012 recruiting class. After a slow start, Todd Graham has started to put together a solid class, currently headlined by Chad Voytik, one of the top high school quarterbacks in the country. Pitt's class is ranked No. 40 by Rivals and No. 26 by Scout, and adding Shell would likely vault the Panthers up several more spots on each list.
↵Both sites rank Shell as one of the top five running backs in the nation.
