The No. 10 ranked Pitt Panthers tip off their 2011-2012 season on Friday night when they host the Albany Great Danes in Pittsburgh Friday night. They reportedly will be without sophomore wingman J.J. Moore, who was suspended for one game due to his illegal participation in a summer league game. Moore is expected to be a big part of Jamie Dixon's team this year after playing in spot, reserve duty a year ago. He and Lamar Patterson are expected to be the primary two contenders to assume the large shoes left by Gilbert Brown's departure.
↵Moore, a rangy 6-foot-6 player, averaged 3.3 points per game last season.
