Pitt's Chas Alecxih Pulls No Punches Talking About Former Coach Michael Haywood

Pitt defensive lineman Chas Alecxih recently spoke pretty candidly about former coach Michael Haywood. Let's just say he didn't have many good things to say:

"A real (jerk), that guy," Alecxih said ...

↵

"You should have seen our first meeting," Alecxih said. "He came in with a wrinkled suit, the worst suit I had ever seen. It looked like he had picked it up at Goodwill.

↵

"He said, 'Do me a favor, everybody sit up in your chairs.' Basically, he told us we owed him something. Very arrogant.

↵

"We walked out of the meeting and we said, 'Wow, that's going to be our next head coach?' When he got fired (after he was arrested on a domestic abuse charge), I was happy."

Conversely, Alecxih had only great things to say about Todd Graham's first impression ... which you'd expect, obviously.

Since Alecxih's a senior and the season's virtually over, it's not a total shock that he'd open up a little. But this? That's a bit surprising. Still, seniors like Alecxih probably weren't all that impressed with him and going into their final season, probably had hoped for a bit more stability. The Graham experiment has been anything but a success so far, but the players generally seem happy with him.
