Pitt Coaching Search: Mario Cristobal To Interview, According To Report

Florida International coach Mario Cristobal will interview Friday for the Pitt head coaching position vacated by Todd Graham on Wednesday according to a report by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Paul Zeise.

Zeise reported earlier in the day that interim Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell and Wisconsin offensive coordinator Paul Chryst were among the other interview subjects Pitt has or will talk to. He now says Fickell interviewed on Thursday and that Chryst will talk to Pitt officials on Saturday.

Cristobal just finished his fifth season at Florida International and is set to lead the Golden Panthers against Marshall in the Beef O'Brady's bowl on Dec. 20. He has a career record of 24-37 but has led Florida International to back-to-back bowl appearances after losing records in his first three campaigns. Last season, his team won the Sun Belt Conference and the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl with a 7-6 record. The Panthers were 8-4 in 2011.
